We have a goat that came down with listeriosis. Our family has been in constant contact with this animal, treating it for days. What is the risk of our family contracting listeriosis. Is there a risk of cattle contracting it?

Listeria monocytogenes is the bacteria responsible for listeriosis. It is a zoonotic disease, which means that humans can contract it from animals. This usually occurs from drinking unpasturized milk. As for spreading to cattle, it is generally picked up in feed, and not spread animal to animal. I'd recommend you speak with your vet, or look it up on google.com....
