I pulled the trigger on 1.5 tons of the $230 one yesterday with a 300g feeder. Feeder was $280. Supposed to fill it today.

Your going to see a pretty high consumption on that first load. It always seems to settle into a acceptable rate . I guess the new wears off..idk
Stuck a stick in the feeder today to see how much they have eaten out of it so far and it looks to be in the #2 per head, per day range. I would expect it to pick up a hair just cause some cattle were a little slower to going at it than others. I've watched the cattle go at it now and they will have it dripping off their mouths from licking but they never just hang on it. They are getting some good licks then they move on to graze. I was worried they would stand there for 30 min and go to town. That does not seem to be the case.
We will see how things go as the conditions continue to deteriorate and they become more accustom to it.
