Limousin sweep the board at National Primestock Show

Help Support CattleToday:

Surely they have nicer looking cattle than that over there. I would love to see some of the other breed champions that they beat to win.

Hey Ollie
You think these could stand above the bottom half of their class over here in a small county fair show. I don't.

You have to remember that their cattle are designed for a different production environment than ours. They look similar to the hogs we produce over here that are designed for confinement feeding over the majority of their life.

Great result for the limousin breed at the National Primestock Show last weekend. Lim sired cattle took supreme champion and reserve champion as well as the baby beef championship.
Pictures at this link.

That is a great honor for your breed if that is a competitive show.
We (people on this board) forget that what we consider our best, might not do well in your country and vice-a-versa.

Hogs over here have been designed for low fat, and heavy muscles. Confinement production came after the fact.
With the low fat, lean hogs with no marbling.they have lost their taste and now pork consumption is going backwards while fat well marbled beef that has plenty to excite the taste buds has been increasing in consumption.

Thanks for the clarification.

Saw some cow shows on PBS in another country, they all wore the white coats to show in. Don't dairy and or goats show in coats like this at some of our shows?
