Hey,

I just bought a new limousin cow and was wondering if they had calving difficulties. Also what are the average birth weights of Limousins?

I haven't had a calving problem with mines and you will have BW as low as 55lbs

I have a herd of 100 registered Limousin cows and never have had a BW over 80 lbs, and these BW are very ocassional. 80% of the BW of my calves have been around 65 lbs.

How many generations of linebreeding did it take to get them to average 65 lbs?? That sounds like a longhorn calf.

I bought my cows 6 years ago in North Texas and I have been breeding them since and as general information our Longhorn BW are much lower than 65 lbs. and our Romagnola and Marchigiana BW are as low as our Limousin BW
