How about this one?

TT, I would say he is better in some ways, not in others. He does have more natural muscle expression. I like his top line WAy better, assuming he doesn't break behind the shoulders when he picks his head up. I like the structure in his legs better, and he has a nice, natural, level set to his tail head. His faults in my mind would be that he appears constricted in the heart girth and has a bit of a sloppy navel. Overall, I like him better that the blacks, but thats just my :2cents:

Thanks BootJack. I've got to learn some of these "finer" criteria on bull selection. I generally look at his heighth, depth, length, overall shape and phenotype. And then look at his EPDs. Nice to learn about some of these other "criteria". Thanks again

Thanks Boot Jack.

You're welcome! JMJ, it just takes a ton of assessing cattle live and on the rail to get this stuff. The more of them you judge, the easier it comes. My opinion isn't all the important in the grand scheme, but happy to help! :cboy:

What do you think of this one?
Either it's the pic or their backs are $hit. :2cents: Red Bull  well said

Please explain what you mean by this.
Great  I open my big mouth and get grilled  . I really don't like the second bulls leg set it may be the picture or it messes up his back. As for the second bull You can have him I wouldn't want him :2cents:

What do you think of this one?

More than anything, both Bulls are standing on deep slopes. That has more to do with their backs looking weak than anything.
More than likely. The photographer was not thinking when he took the picture :?

I think I'd prefer either of the two black bulls instead of the red. Actually, I think I like the second black bull best. It's hard to say about the hind legs with him standing downhill. They might be too straight, or it could be the unlevel ground playing tricks on the eyes... I guess that's why God created more than one bull. Everyone has different opinions on what pleases them.

Actually, if the two blacks had better rear structure, you would see more/extra flex in the hocks with them standing on a slope, not less. I'd still say they are probably too straight in those hocks on level ground, but without better pictures or live viewing, all we can do is guess.

Well I bought a red Limousin bull. The breeders are nice folks and have had Limousin cattle for quite a while. They had both red and black, and I originally had a black bull in mind, but a couple of the red bulls just stood out to me over the others. He will be with mostly Angus cows, so most calves should be black. The bulls seemed very calm and followed the owner through some lots, similar to how I would move them so I think the bull will fit right in.

Thank you Freighttrain. Dexta I guess I could have butchered them. But a guy came along and just wouldn't take no for a answer. Now he owns two of them.
