I am so glad that and I am a conservative southerner!!!


Question? How do you tell the difference between liberals, conservatives, and southerners?

Answer: Pose the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.


What do you do?

Liberal Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think?
What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.

Right on! As a CHL holder and occasional carrier, our CHL instructor once told us to size up the threat in about 1/2 of a second and then in the next 1 second take whaterever action was necessary to reduce the threat. A charging threat can cover 21 feet in about 2-3 seconds...especially if his/her adrenalin is pumping at 110%.

I imagine you would probaly feel the same way if your wife, mother, dad, sister, brother, daughter or son would be accousted by an armed person, beaten, robbed, or possibly killed with no way to defend themselves.

That is; unless your whole family has had police or military training.

Well, yes I do! I don't believe he is the one trying to rewrite the constitution and take away the rights our forefathers fought for! So are you for abolishing all forms of adult enjoyment or just the things you don't like? If they take the adult oriented shows off the air, then how much longer until the animal rights activists start calling for the hunting/fishing shows to be taken off, and then the do gooders will tell us that NASCAR promotes speeding and wreckless driving. Whats next, once you open the door to these people? Or is it o k as long as they are taking away something you don't like?

I have many of the same concerns with "W" and the possibilities of censorship. But I do thnk that he is an honorable man but maybe a little overzealous when it comes to the common good issues, as he perceives them.
But he is not blatantly anti-constitution as kerry is. he is willing to scrap the 2nd amendment for political expediancy. Proven outright lies on the issue of gun control, being a traitor - comfort to the enemy as a vietnam vet that threw medals over the white house fence, associating with hanoi jane, those are much larger issues to me.
On many of the supposed issues I'm rather ambivilent, butsome really get my scivvys in a knot.
I feel that we are each responsible for our own deeds and words and the gov has no business in it i.e. abortion.
I feel that the liberals are totally out of line with my own beliefs, but if the hypocritical dem is elected I'll support him but will work to get someone else elected in 2008.
The first and formost issue should alwasy be the Consitution.
Yaers ago they had a deal on the ballot in CA to prevent queers from teaching in schools. I detest queers, but I voted against it simply because it singles out one group for descrimination. I'm no fan of queer marriages, but more from th financial burdens it will place on other citizens then anything else. I don't like queer adoptions either, but once again, I can't see how under our constitution we can descriminate against them and not open the door for other forms of descrimination.
If the dems would present an honorable and moderate candidate I would vote for him/her if I felt that was a better alternative for the nation then the republican. Last ime around I felt that Alan Keys was the best candidate and more inline with my beliefs and priorities.

On the one hand it is a waste of time to argue with liberals, because it's awfully hard to win an argument with somebody who doesn't look at the plain facts or learn from history.

But on the other hand one of the reasons we've gotten into such a mess is because, for too many years now, so many thinking / concerned / patriotic / God-fearing people kept their mouths shut. We figured the homos and pinkos would finally shut up and go away.

They didn't and they won't. They are intent on turning this country into a socialist society with no morals. The noisy minority must be defeated – or at least kept in check. For the sake of our kids and grandkids.

Amen! Freedom is not free. It comes at a price, sometimes a dear price. Nations have always been like people. There will always be bullies and there will always be cowards. Both are equally despicable. The few that have the nerve to bloody the bully's nose are the only ones that will ever have freedom. Those that run scared all the time and squawk like a bunch of guineas each time they're hit are just as deplorable as those doing the hitting.

We're on the same side. I'm just confident that Bush will win. I will vote for him, and that's about all I can do. The incident that happened in Spain will likely not happen here BECAUSE Bush is in office, and has put measures in place that are extremely vigilant to that respect. Rather something to the opposite effect will happen, and strengthen his victory. If I am wrong we'll have to sit back and say "I told you so" to all the Democrats. To all the Anti Iraq folks, sit down and watch a few programs on the history channel about Hitler's holocaust. Also note all the memorials based on that that all agree, "It is a greater sin to be a bystander than to be the perpetrator". Do we wait until rule by terror and deaths of innocent civilians reaches 6 million before we act? Bush has intestinal fortitude that the rest of the world leaders do not have. Many Americans say he's just following his father's agenda, but Clinton even stated himself that Al Qaeda and Saddam would have to be dealt with. Frankly I think people are just too danged concerned with all of their own petty problems to have enough compassion to help someone else. Me, Me, Me. That's what our world has become.
