Does any one have a recipe for really good lemonaide?
We are having a contest with some friends of ours about making the best lemonaide possibile. Ours is OK but not blue ribbon material. We are looking for the real sugar kind that will konck your socks off.
Really appreciate any assistance.
Thanks, Sue & Dave

1 12-ounce can thawed lemonade concentrate

1 750 ml bottle vodka

2 cups spiced rum

2 cups water

3/4 cup limoncello or other lemon-flavored liqueur

Garnish: lemon slices and mint sprigs

Combine all ingredients except garnish in pitcher that holds at least 85 ounces and stir well. Serve with ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint. Makes about 12 6-ounce servings.

Note: To make "Kentucky Lemonade," substitute bourbon for spiced rum.

Sounds like it would be great for a party but what I was looking for was something for a Sunday after church get together....Dmc

Here's a recipe from Joy of Cooking that makes a killer lemonade:

Lemonade Syrup

1. Boil for 5 minutes, 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water and rind of 2 lemons cut into thin strips,1/8 tsp salt.

Cool and add juice of 6 lemons.
Strain the syrup, store in a covered jar. Add 2 tablespoons of syrup to 1 glass ice water or carbonated water.

Makes 4.5 cups.

It is easy to make up the syrup and take to whatever occasion and finish the lemonade there.

There is such a thing as 'really good lemonade'?  You're sure this isn't an oxymoron? ;-)
