Laura's Lean Beef

Help Support CattleToday:

My neighbor does it. He complains like everyone else does but he continues to do it every year. The good thing is that he locks his price in on the contract and he knows what he is going to get before they are ready. If prices fall, he gets a premium. If they go up, well, that's just tough. During their buyout, they were a little slow in picking them up. Overall, I'd say he likes it.

On a side note, I never new lean calfs could be so fat.

My thoughts is it give us an option that will market the bigger breeds that gain faster, don't have to be choice, (actually choice is discounted), don't have to be black, at a higher price.
