I have a coming 3 year old rwf cow that will calve in march and she is limping around with a sore backfoot can I give her a shot of la200 without harming the calf?
She had trouble with the same foot last summer and after a couple of shots of la200 she seemed to heal up.
Is there a better shot I could give her?

Liquamycin is safe for use in bred cattle .http://www.drugs.com/vet/liquamycin-la-200.html

is there a chance that when you get her in for the shot you can also pick the foot up and see what's wrong with it?
Some limps can be healed with antibiotics. A lot can't.

I've never heard of oxytetracycline (LA200) causing abortion and we use it in bred cattle. Will defer to those who know though.
Penicillin or excenel is what I've used for footrot.
