KPX Chipper Review

Help Support CattleToday:

Hi Angus,

The chipper was running fine. It's pretty easy to see how big a piece it can take...if you can fit it in the chute opening at the feed wheel, the flywheel will chip it. The real problem with the machine is the sleeve that overlaps the two parts of the PTO shaft was cut WAY too short. There's no reason for it. If it was even an inch or two longer, the shaft couldn't separate and we'd still be chipping.

Yes, we had a soil test done first thing. Good minerals here, but low pH (5.5), so I limed the pasture last month.

Just an update, FYI. Spoke to them (sales rep) on Monday, he told me to email service and their policy was to respond within 24 hours. Now it's end of week and still no response. Further, another part of the unit has failed, which I will write about this weekend and post pictures.

The unit chips well...when it works. But it's failed twice in less than a week and their service is awful. The guarantee means nothing. I can't recommend this company.
