Knots unde skin of my donkey

I was brushing my miniature donkey and felt knots under her skin and when I applied some pressure she flinched like it hurt. It's all down one side and on neck. It scared me so I called vet he came out and looked at her and said its fat. I thought maybe it was fly bites or anything but fat. Has anyone experienced this?

Try worming her with Ivermectin.
