knot

i have a 5 wk old calf that about 2 weeks ago got his head stuck in the fork of a tree.i dont know how long he was there before my wife rescued him. but the next day he had a knot on his jaw about the size of a golf ball i thought it would go away in a day or 2 but it hasnt yet.he is eating ok and doesnt seem to be bothered by it.is there anything i should do for him?

If he is eating well, acting good, I would leave him alone. He most likely has some edima and may take quite awhile for his body to obsorb it. Jeanne
