Knot on Neck

Got a 10 month old heifer that has developed a softball sized knot on her neck. I vaccinated my calves a few weeks prior, could this have caused it? Was about 4 weeks between shot and knot coming up. Knot is hard, put a needle in to see if any puss or blood came out but no. Should I just let it see if it will go away on its own? I know she will be docked at the sale with it on her! Thanks for any advice!

A golf ball sized knot in neck from vaccination is not uncommon, but a softball sized knot is. Some vaccines cause more knots than others. Alpha-7 is a good vaccine, but it leaves a higher rate of golf ball sized knots than any other I know.
