I sold a 200lb bottle raised baldie steer calf this week for 4.50/lb. I'll take that any day. But it can't last.

people are wanting light bottle fed calves and bottle calves.and they are willing to pay for them.

We been selling our calves out of dairy herd at 48 hours old. Under 100# ones bring $4/#. 100#+ bring $5.50-7/#. Solid black crossbred beef x dairy bring even more. Some 60# twins were over $500 other day. I can't afford to feed them any longer than that here. 2-300# calves only make me $100 in 60-100 days. I got couple hundred bucks in them messing with them plus if one dies eats up a lot of profit.
