Not back yard plinking by a long shot but absolutely fascinating to me.

When you think of the number of factors that could take the bullet off target after leaving the rifle alone it is quite incredible.

We have a 1000 yard range and a shooting platform. A small group of friends will come over and we'll sling lead at a 3'x4' sheet of 3/8" thick steel hanging from chains between post. It's an interesting sound when hit.

As much as we've practiced, I still believe a measure of chance is involved the few times anyone has rung the bell.

Of course, we celebrate like it was on purpose. Think Gong Show in reverse.

Skill, science, preparation and LUCK! Pretty darn impressive any way you look at it!

Given the technology presented what is the practical tactical application of a powder driven projectile with no guidance
system and attempting to hit a target beyond the line of sight? Billy Dixon if you are out there we would like to hear from you!
