Just for a good laugh!

Help Support CattleToday:

I guess it could happen without someone meddling in the birth but I've never seen it. Of course this might explain why I found the carcass of a dead calf last year. One thing I have learned is that live birth calving rate is indirectly proportional to the rate at which I assist in calving.

OK, back to this stupidity.

First idiot: Quote: Our newborn calf died several hours after being born. It seems the umbilical cord did not seal up, as there was a lot of blood coming from it. Is this common,

YO! Idiot! Your calf bleed to death before your very eyes!!
Not only should you not be allowed to own animals you should not be allowed to reproduce or vote.
YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!

Second IDIOT: Quote: "if you can be there you should tie the cord to stop the bleeding.
The usual material for tying the cord is called umbilical tape. If you don't have the tape, you can use dental floss."

OK, I am here in the middle of 100 acres and my calf is bleeding to death.
I checked my wallet and there was no "umbilical tape or dental floss, just an old condom.
He77 I don't even have teeth, why would I have dental floss??
Should I run to our local RX and get some??
Or should I just tie a knot in the end of the cord itself?

Second idiot again: Quote: "Soak the tape or floss briefly in alcohol to disinfect it and wash and disinfect your hands real well."
Never mind Idiot 2, the calf died a half hour ago.

If this isn't the blind leading the blind I don't know what is!!!
It's funny, but it really isn't!!
