What should a bull calf weigh at 100 days old?
We weighed ours at the fair and he weighed 325, is this good?
Since we never weigh any of our commercial cattle I didn't know what a good weight was.
Thanks!

Gert,

325lbs at 100 days sounds about right without knowing the breed, birth weight, creep feed, etc,

Let's say we assume:

-80lbs at birth
-325lbs minus 80lbs = 245lbs of gained weight from birth to 100 days
-245 lbs divided by 100 days = 2.45lbs of average daily weight gain.

I believe almost anybody would be satisfied with this weight gain in a calf.

WDA or Weight per Day of age of 3.25 is very good.

I would say normal is around 2 and have seen very few above 4.

He is a gert cross, sire is the angus bull N Bar Emulation (EXT).
he weighed 62 pounds at birth. he has been eating feed with the cow for for about 6 wks and we have been feeding him by himself in the evening for 3-4 wks.
We feed all of our cattle the same ration, corn and gluten we dont' use creep feeders, calves seem to do great without them.
Thanks for the input
