HALFWAY THROUGH IT'S HOLIDAY DONATION DRIVE, LEE COUNTY'S SALVATION ARMY IS TOUTING A GENEROUS --- YET NO SO UNUSUAL ---- GIFT. THIS TWENTY DOLLAR LIBERTY EAGLE GOLD COIN WAS FOUND IN THE DONATION KETTLE OUTSIDE THIS PUBLIX ON PALM BEACH BOULEVARD. AND IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME.

"an anonymous donor drops it in one of our kettles the beginning of December every year for the past four years."

WE CALLED AROUND TO LOCAL COIN SHOPS TO FIND OUT JUST HOW MUCH THIS 1908 COIN IS WORTH. THE CONSENSUS ---- MORE THAN 12-HUNDRED DOLLARS. FOR FOUR YEARS --- THE COIN COMES WITH A SMALL NOTE: "IN MEMORY OF MIMI."
