Some good info, but my though was there is a stressed out, under appreciated, underpaid, understaffed police officer who had a history of dealing with this guy and went too far. I worked in a correctional setting many years and at times I felt borderline of going beyond what is necessary it took to get the situation under control. Thank goodness I had thick enough skin it did not happen. Pretty hard to stay in emotional control dealing with someone pushing every button you have.

Chauvin will pay for his actions, but put yourself in his shoes as to him I bet those 9 minutes were like a couple with the adrenaline pumping and dealing will people like this.
Have a friend that is a ex jailer ..he said a lot of things I won't mention for the delicate ears..but the take home message ..a person only needs to deal with them once to see..

Watched it all Stan. The officer was railroaded. Mob rule at its finest.

If that was your son or family member I bet you wouldn't feel that way... That's all I will say about that. Any fool with a lick of common sense knows if you kneel on someone's neck thats not what your neck was built to take. In the heat of the moment sure but prolonged kneeling on a neck come on now any fool knows that isn't right. He was not railroaded by any stretch of the imagination... He was made an example but he had a fair trial... He chose to let a jury of his peers determine his fate. TT if I did the same thing to you I guarantee I would get the same. I see some things never change on CT... Because someone is white or a police officer does not exempt them from having to pay for their crimes. It seems when either of those white or a police officer has to pay for their crimes a majority of this board puts blinders on and looks the other way. Fortunately, These hasty opinions and biased opinions are becoming extinct. That's my one and only comment so y'all call me what you want and say what you like.

It has always been dangerous but these guys and gals don't deserve to have some punk sneak up behind them and ambush them in their cars as has happened numerous times in the past 2 years. Nor do they deserve the harassment and taunting they endure in certain big cities simply for doing their jobs.

If folks think things are bad now wait until the idiots currently running this county "RE-IMAGINE" the police and the difficult job of policing.

Heaven help us all.
I agree that no law enforcement officer deserves to be ambushed or attacked. I think they should also be free to do their jobs and to take steps necessary to accomplish the job. That does not however translate to taking liberty with that freedom to do their job. Law enforcement officers are no different from people in general in fact they are people and come from all kinds of backgrounds and ideologies. I want to believe and do believe the vast majority are well meaning people. I have no doubt that there are some bad eggs, that give the others a bad reputation and make it harder on the multitude of ones that try to do their jobs as conscientiously as possible.

I have said repeatedly I support the blue and if the officer had been black and I was sorry enough to raise a drug using thug of a son with a long criminal record and he put himself in the position to get killed by a cop I'd say that was on my son. I honestly mean that. I raised all my children to respect the law and comply with an officer's commands. I emphasized that it was "yes sir, no sir, and I'm sorry sir "if you find yourself in a position to have to deal with the law.

Everyone needs to stop making this and everything else about race. It's about obeying the law and complying with instructions when you do come in contact with the law. I'm sad George's dad didn't teach him that.

Ky hills, they are doing a thankless job and I wouldn't blame them if they all walked off the job nationwide without notice. I wonder how long it would take until our cities became totally uninhabitable? Small towns too for that matter.

I get that it is a thankless job and an essential one, very few would dispute that. The issue at hand is that there are a few that just like in any profession have no business being in that line of work. Those few make it hard for the others to do their jobs and should be relieved of their duty when problematic behavior is detected.

What I can't figure out is what sports has to do with this. I use to enjoy watching sports and after Kapernick and a few like this I am getting to the point I can't stand sports. I do not want one red cent of my TV bill to go to support any sports and I will not be buying any sports tickets or watching either. When Sports became political and a platform to preach and promote racial injustice I am done. People if you want to make a difference then quite supporting their Sports.

That one police officer does not represent every police officer in the United states. If I pass a fake $20 bill and the Police come and I fight back and raise Hell then lords knows what could happen.
But a white guy in South Carolina can shoot a church full of black people for praying with him and get arrested without a scratch funny how that happens. Even carried to Burger King afterwards and yes I am black by the way.

Not sure what you mean by that. I'm speaking of the crimes George would have been arrested for.
He was a career hood rat, thug in and out of Texas Prison system. Did time for home invasion as well.
Pillar of society just another leach created by socialism policies.

"Any fool with a lick of common sense knows" ( I love it when I can quote someone) You stand a good chance of going for a ride if you
are caught passing counterfeit money........ So does this mean Mr Floyd was a fool with no common sense or did over zealous police
fail to mention the modes of transportation available to Mr. Floyd i e. 1 Police cruiser 2. Ambulance or 3. Hearse.
I wonder how much of the money awarded to the Floyd family will actually go to them.

I remember that well as I really felt for those people. They took him in and tried to help, good people. He killed a lot of really really nice professional people, very sad. His name was Dylan Roof.

I don't know the story of his arrest, but I bet the people that arrested him, if for any reason during the arrest, would have did what it took to bring him in.
