Anyone else getting sick and tired and "Junk" emails?? I do a pretty good job of weeding out most SPAM and junk, but it seems lately that I am constantly being bombarded with so-called "Business" emails... And to make matters worse, why the he[[ do I have to "unsubscribe" to something that I never subscribed to in the first place! :bang: :bang: It seems the more I tag them as junk or SPAM, the more they keep landing in my inbox!

Just a little frustrating...

I am sorry TN........I will quit emailing you I guess. :hide:

My filters must be pretty good, I do not get a lot of that.

I dont know how many long lost rich relatives I could have that if I send 150 bucks for the processing fee I will get my inheritence. Those are my emails atleast 7 daily. I must have had alot of rich people in my family.

I have mine set to trash everything in five days automatically. If you e-mail me and it gets trashed you can always call me on the phone.

Sky, I'm not talking about the obvious Scam emails... Nigerian Lottery, Long Lost Relatives wanting to leave you millions... no, I'm talking about business emails that are sent to you by name (as opposed to "undisclosed recipients") for things like technical webinars, business conferences, etc..

When you scroll to the bottom of the email, there is a brief line that says if you no longer wish to receive emails from So-n-So, please "Unsubscribe"! My point is why should I have to do this when I never subscribed in the first place? If I choose to ignore them and dump them in the "Trash" file, you can bet that I will be receiving another email the following week stating that they would like to follow-up with me from the previous emails. What I decided to do now is actually reply back to them with how I really feel about receiving their silly little emails. :compute: Funny, no one ever replies back to me. :???:

Those types generally stem from somone that you do subscribe to selling your email address.

I get those emails too but they are auto sent to trash and I only see them when I go to trash to look at whats in there.

I have two e-mail accounts, Outlook at work and Google for personal stuff. I get a fair bit of the stuff you described on the Outlook account, but I can right-click on them in the list and choose to have anything from that same sender automatically sent to my Junk folder.

Once you unsubscribe to SPAM they know it's a live address and target you for more of it.

Outlook here too....there is one setting where you can simply put keywords and it will send anything with that word to the junk folder.....had to send them a pic to convince them I didn't need the Viagra pills from Canada. :lol2: :lol2:

winner winner, chicken dinner

Same goes for the phone calls. Those calls you don't recognize and when you answer there is silence are registering your number as a working number.

Similar as the phone calls are ones from say Walgreens or CVS to tell you your prescription is ready. The computer waits for a voice to answer the call, before the message starts. If you answer the call, but don't say anything, then recording never starts.

Yep. I have several email accounts. One for correspondence I want. Another for businesses I do business with. One for social media and another is MailNeverChecked@********************.com. Use it for those those "don't contact me, I'll contact you" situations.

As for the computer generated calls.....I learned years ago... Say hello once and listen for static noise. If I don't hear noise I hang up...but nowadays, if you aren't in my contact list ant your area code isn't recognizable, chances are I'm not going to answer.... I don't do voice mail either. The phone tells me I missed your call and I will call you back. One time.

A, the problem with even saying "hello" activates the recording. Almost always, if you say nothing to an unrecognized area code/number the call will disconnect on its own.
