Jltrent what say you

Help Support CattleToday:

Will you keep us updated on when the sale will be and who is handling it?
I am not KT by any means, but the sale date is 4-3-21, Lee Auction, 39658 Veterans Memorial HWY, Pennington Gap VA. It is usually the same day as Pro Teams auction and I have to decide which to attend.

especially the new POS's from china.. those are total junk.. the older ones were alright, but I'd rather a european saw
The sad part is Husqvarna bought out Poulan and the small orange Poulan saws (labeled Husqvarna) makes the company more money than the regular Husqvarna lineup. A lot of parts in all of them have China labeled on them and getting more sadly from what I have seen. We don't make much anymore on this side of the pond.

Just throwing this out there, if you have a Makita or Dolmar saw, weedwacher etc. the gas engine company is no more and other than what is on the shelve old stock parts are NLA (No longer available). This reminds me of the older Partner saws as they were good, but NLA now.

I heard good things about the Makita/Dolmar 7100 and 7900's (I think those were the models)

I have bid on the 7900/7910s before but never went high enough. Their claim to fame was power to weight the strongest. The old Stihl 064 has that recognition and still does IMO. The porting/air flow/compression on the 064 cylinder is always better than the 066 cylinder and the saw weighs less. I just got through putting together an OEM Stihl 064 except an Italian made meteor piston added a few days ago and it is amazing the power it has for the weight. To cut with it and then go back to a 50-60cc saw you think you have a toy in your hands.

Here is the list power to weight as the 064 is not on it, probably due to age, but it will almost match a 066 and lighter in weight. Those Husqvarna's are strong, but they usually run just a little heavier which knocks them down the list.

Stihl 661 7.2hp 16.0lbs 2.22
Dolmar 7900 6.3hp 14.1lbs 2.23

Sky I found this on another site if you want more info...their overall take is similar to mine just not as direct

I have an 064 with an 066 top end, it's a healthy saw, but if I'm going to have to carry a 100cc saw around, I like the ported 394 best, even over the 2100's.

I have two small husquavarnas that have less than 20 hrs. Costs $100 to fix each. Junked and got stiyl. Always ready to go. Have to be careful if your usin a lot now as style is not the same.
Originals had titanium sleeves and now they are ceramic. You have to tell them you want titanium. Ceramic are cheaper so they offer them to show great price.
