Jersey's Udder

We have a 2 year old Jersey cow. Her udder has some discharge from the teats. (But only when expressed) She has not been breed and so we were wondering if this is normal. I didn't know it this could be happening when she is in heat. I was worried about an infection but the discharge is a more white color. Any info would be greatly appreciated as we are new at this. Thanks!

Yes we are positive she is not bred. We have had her since she was a few weeks old and she has not been around any bulls.

Then, I don't know the answer to your question - I'm sorry. I suppose hormones could cause this, but it doesn't seem normal. I've never seen this in my heifers. Is there a large animal veterinarian you can call and ask this question of?

Could be "precocious milking" -- goats will do it, especially if from a line of heavy milkers.

I know one doe that produced milk continuously for 12 years and was never once bred, never dropped a kid.
