Jersey sires

Help Support CattleToday:

I don't think any rancher or other person would use a Jersey sire for "beef type" cattle. Also, from what I've heard, Jersey bulls have rather nasty personalities and that is something a non-dairy producer would not want to breed into their herd.

JMO ;-)

that is because they are kept on there own in there own pen by themselves and they just get rowdy i am looking for bulls i want to breed to my heifer

Just Flat Out NAsty. Spent a bunch of time with them. I've seen Jersey Bulls in with hundreds of heifers come looking for trouble. Youngsters aren't even nice had 600 lb Bulls come at me and they meant business. if i was going to breed one heifer or 50 i would go AI and save myself the feed and get the best proven genetics out there.

I have had a fair amount of experience milking Jersey, Holstein, and Guernsey. Most Jersey cows are no problem. But when you get a kicker, she can kick you a half dozen times before you know what's happening. They are worse than the other cows.
Better watch any bull. Watch a Jersey closer.
