I will be taking my market steer to a jackpot show next month, and it will be a five hour trailer ride. Is there anything I should do to make the ride less stressful and more comfortable for him? Are there any common funguses/diseases I should worry about him catching at the show? (We are in California). I also have three lambs that will be in the same situation (and in the same trailer) if you happen to have comments on them too. (I know I need to worry about fungus big time with the lambs). Thanks so much!

I went to two shows in one weekend, Red Bluff on Saturday, and Chico on Sunday. I just showed at the Santa Clara County Fair, and will be auctioning my steer on Sunday. He was Grand Champion FFA Market Steer, and Best European Crossbred, yay! Your fair is also this month, isn't it?

Cool, I am happy for you. Yes, our fair was this month and I had Reserve Champion Feeder lamb. My steer took third in his market class and I almost won beef showmanship, but I got second, oh well. I didnt auction my steer though, he is fully sponsored and the sponsors want the meat. Congratulations on your win!!

Hey, good job! My lamb was first in his class, and 7th overall, and my feeder lamb was 4th, or something like that. I didn't place in either showmanship classes...maybe next year. Congrats on your wins!!!!
