J & N Ranch Black Herefords - Annual Bull Sale

Help Support CattleToday:

We'll be there Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Cattle have to be there by noon on Friday. Come up any day you can. We'll have some good grub Friday night and talk some cattle. Look me up. Like to shake hands with a legend!!
Mapquest says 300 miles and 4 hours. That is doable. Are there motels with vacancies around there? Or, are there power and water hookups at the sale location? If I come alone I could pull a trailer with LQs in it. If I have to bring the ole lady, I'd have to get a hotel. So, I can either tell her I am going out of town on Valentine's day without her, or tell her I am taking her to a romantic getaway at a cow sale. In addition, I have one of her favorite bands booked Friday night at our local venue, and she has been talking about going for a month. If I was a LV bookie, I'd say the odds of either happening are slim to none. But, I have pulled off impossible things before. What is the weather forecast there for this weekend?

@Warren Allison, If your talking about the sale in Blountville TN its April 5th, not this weekend. There are 3 cities within 20 minutes drive of there and lots of motels and restaurants of every kind. Plus a casino and Hard Rock motel within 15 minutes.
300 miles in 4 hours is not happening unless your very lucky and break the speed limit a lot. You wont average 75mph, especially through Knoxville TN.
Bristol TN Nascar race is the next weekend so camping starts filling up early unless reserved.

Well, I guess I need to pay attention to what I am reading! April 5th is a lot better! And most likely warmer! MapQuest showed 285 miles and 3 hours 50 minutes. Interstate all the way. But you are right about how it will probably take longer. What city is the Hardrock in?

@kenny thomas, how far away from Blountville do you live?
I'm about 10 minutes from the sale site!!!
There's a couple hotels right here next to me at exit 63: La Quinta & Sleep Inn Suites. Not bad places. 10 miles up the interstate at exit 74 (Bristol, TN) there's Hampton Inn, Quality Inn and Fairfield Inn. Much nicer places. Plus across the interstate there's a big shopping center with a lot of places to eat. 5 minutes from these (Bristol, VA.) is the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It is really nice!!
No camper hookups are available at the sale site. Sorry.
