I am distantly (very) related to Davy Crockett. He was raised about 15 miles from here.
 
Autry letters back home is what caused my bunch on my paternal grandmother side to migrate in out of North Carolina. Other grandmothers side was Dickinson's from Tennessee. We couldn't tie in with Captain Dickinson.
All we know and could dig up is they migrated in from Tennessee.
