i have access to rice still in the husk. is it a good/safe feed for cattle? either straight rice or mixing with corn? does anyone know the protein level of rice? thanks gene

> gene We work at a rice plant and are able to get rice easily for feed but have had very bad luck with it. We have lost one due to bloat when feeding with it. Almost lost our bull after using it. Have had several others get sick and had to use mineral oil to get them through it. After being accustomed to hay, their system doesn't know how to handle it. Hope this helps.
