Induced abortion

I have a cow I believe to be 45 to 50 days pregnant. ( Breed to unfavorable bull) Is it too late to use Lutalyse to abort the pregnancy? If not, what are the chances of infection accurring afterwards? I don't want to take eny unnecessary risks with this cow. I would appreciate eny experienced advice. Thanks,

Any PGF2a prostaglandin or analog (lutalyse, estrumate, synchrocepts...) will easily cause the termination of this pregnancy. They are very effective until about 4 months, when it almost takes a bomb to make them abort (yes, I do have a method but I won't share it...) At that stage of pregnancy, the membranes are just forming and there should be little or no risk of endometritis following the injection and subsequent abortion. As always, ask your vet!
