Help Support CattleToday:

I was semi retired through my 20's and early 30's. I worked a job that paid real well and that I could get a new job pretty much any time I wanted. So I would work a month or two and quit and go play for three months. Then I made the mistake of marrying a woman who could spend money faster than I could make it. Ten years later she ran off leaving me with plenty of debt.

As for cattle. I lease the land I run them on for less than the taxes would be if I owned it. Money from the cattle goes back into the cattle business to grow it and make improvements. Maybe by the time I am 80 or 90 I will be set up good enough to retire and live off my profits from the cows. But I am sure that I had more fun with that early retirement in my 20's and 30's than most older retirement people do in their 60's and 70's.
