Not really to get into a debate of to use or not to use...

But, if you implanted some 4wt calves to put on pasture, would you also benefit from adding rumen sin say by way of a bovatec 2.2 block?

I know there are lots of variables, but in an ideal world would you gain the benefit of both?

It's my understanding that implant and ionophore effects are additive, ie you get the benefits of both when you administer both.

You have to have a certain level of calories to benefit from implanting(ex like 2lbs/day gain)-- pasture alone here won't do it(weaned calves).

And just to nit pick. Rumensin and Bovatec are two different ionophores.
I have doubts that an animal would get enough of either from a block to do much good.
I won't grow calves without an ionophore at proper levels-- its easy money.

With proper nutrition the two together work very well.

Was thinking of ralgro, but maybe because that is what we have used in past. But I think revalar has one for grass cattle... Yes they will be weaned.
