I'm having abnormally large calves!

A few years back we had a yearling heifer have a calf.. right around the 15 month old mark as well... that one was TINY.. about 45 lbs I think, born in July... she bred back in august though, and by the time she was 4 years old, she had had 4 calves.. None worth much, she stayed really small, and then we ended up culling her.. What was funny is that the previous year one of my pet heifer calves fooled my mother into thinking she was pregnant (she had a big belly) so she got fed better and got extra attention.. but she wasn't.. This is actually the cow who's 3 last calves have been in the 120-140 lb range, though her first calf was only 75, which was her own BW as well
