4 month old calf has just a bit of thick, goopy white drainage from corner of one eye off and on for a week. No tearing. No actual eye/cornea/conjunctival inflammation. I looked under the lids a bit for some kind of burr. No eye pain or swelling. No nasal discharge. Is it still pinkeye? I will prob just dose some antibiotics, but was curious what other problems cause this kind of symptom.

Take its temp. You don't always see nasal discharge, coughing or a droopy ear along with discharge in the eye in the early stage of pneumonia.

That said, it could be debris you couldn't find (waaaay up under the lid), allergies, a scratch, pinkeye . . . .

IBR causes a white discharge as well?Usually accompanied by nasal discharge too.

Is this a calf from somewhere else brought in?
No, but bottle calf (abandoned from our herd) that spent 12 weeks in our back yard before going back to the herd. So, stressed. Has had first round of vaccinations and dewormer but not boosters.
