Yearling heifers. I breed them on fungus fescue. It lets them cull immediately if they cannot handle it. They are all doing pretty good.
 
Not something I have to deal with in Upstate NY. I have a small maybe 4 acre piece which is part of a winter sacrifice area. Holds up well to the abuse. Was here when purchased back in 1978 so I'm assuming it's the bad version.
