hyperextension in newborn calf legs

Had a calf born yesterday that his hind legs hyperextend making him seem rubbery and wobbly. I had a calf do this 7 or 8 years ago and he came out of it ok once he calcified. I have no doubt this calf will too. Question: is the caused by some sort of deficiency?

I had to pull a backwards calf last fall and his back legs were completely strait when he walked. After a couple of weeks he was fine. Maybe your calf was born backwards also. Just a thought.

no, hyperextended as in they will bend in both directions as weight is shifted.
