All this talk about yet another blow to farmers and ranchers, the economy squeezing out the middle classes and meaningless bail outs, and AIG is going to use OUR MONEY to pay bonuses to execs to the tune of 160 million dollars.

I can empathise with AIG as I am faced with a very similar problem in my cattle operation. Since I try to run the cows as a business and have modeled my business model in the same manner as AIG, I found it necessary to enter into some incentive contracts with the Forage Production Specialist, Fencing Manager and the Herd Supervisor. As you know, the fertilizer costs skyrocketed last year and the cattle prices tanked thus leaving less than optimal returns to the bottom line. After reviewing the books I've determined that the amount of money I'm obligated to pay in bonuses is exactly the same amount of money I owe on my personal tax return. Since these are legal and binding contracts I'm thinking that maybe I should defer paying my personal tax liability and shift this money over to meet these bonus obligations. Before I do this, I think I'll let AIG take the lead and do whatever it is they do cause I know they will do what is right.

Big pushers of this bill are seed companies. Part of the bill would ban using seeds from a non-approved source. This is in the name of bio-terrorism security. I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I see the government controlling the banks and wanting to control your 401k's, food source, agriculture, education and everything else. You control the money, food and guns and the people become subjects depending on the big teat of government :help:

You do sound like a conspiracy theorist. However, I do think that you are correct in your theory. Our government and big business have merged. Our constitution has been trampled. We, the people, no longer have any rights.....

In November 2008, a slight majority of the american people decided to give up all rights and let big brother take care of us.

those now in power are going to do their utmost to give them american people what the slight majority asked for and manage their lives from the cradle to the grave.

It won't last long as the government cannot manage what it already does but it will last long enough to make a backwater socialist nation out of us.
