How young can I band a bull calf using cheerios? We usually do it at four weeks, but they are sometimes big at that time and hard to get into the cheerio. Can I go any younger than that?

As soon as both nuts have descended. Usually at birth or shortly there after

I used to day one. I've been starting first round of shots at 6 weeks, and banding on the second.

as Someone said on here before "they try to wait to implant and band after the calf is out of the cow".

That's a good rule of thumb! :lol2:
But if it is,coming backwards you might band it before it gets all the way out. But they are slimy and, hard to hold on to then. :hide:
