I have one of those small 3 point spreader for seed and fertilizer. I just bought it last fall and it is already rusting. I rinse it out well after fertilizer. Is there something else i need to do to protect it. Maybe washing it with some chemical instead of just the water hose?

Diesel fuel - the wonder drug!
Better than Snuff and half as dusty !!!!

:help: Someone please break that banana's leg ;-)

Yeah, I have a serious dislike for that banana as I've said many times before to no avail.

Use a brush to paint burnt motor oil on your spreader, use your diesel for what it was meant for.

Pressure wash, then hand wash with soap and water, then pressure wash again. Let dry then spray down with diesel or clean used motor oil or a mix of both, spray it down a couple times and real good!

You might try to put some of that roll on bed liner. The feed store I get my fertilizer from put that on their spreader and it has held up well the last 3 years.
