How soon will calf be born

I just purchased 2 pregnant Cows and they are due this month. The one had a long piece of mucous about 2 1/2'. Approximatly how long will it be before she calves. I have an old pro farmer I can count on when necessary. I don't like to bug him too much. Thanks

The long stringy (sticky) mucus isn't a real reliable indicator. Could be a day could be a couple of weeks. When the mucus becomes more watery and us runny rather then sticky you are looking at (normally) within 24 hours.
