I'm sure this has been discussed before, so please forgive me. I'm wondering how much weight an Angus calf with its mother on pasture should gain per month under ideal conditions. Does the weight gain remain steady for several months, or is it faster in the first few months? Thanks.

Two pound's a day is a good number there are so many factor's here.
A ton depend's on your herd and pasture mangement.
I average 3.6 on crossbred calf's if you have retained the right momma cow's by the book's your's should be 20% lighter if they are straight bred 2.88 a day under the same management.
Edit that weight gain is on steer calves the heifer's are at 3.3.

id say 1.5lb to 2lb a day depending on the cow pasture an if you creepfeed or not.if everything was perfect wich it never will be then you could get 3lb a day gain from a calf.
