4-5# grain/hd/day is a good amount to grow out your heifers with good grass or hay.
If in doubt, I definitely would deworm and it sure won't hurt to deworm the whole group. My standard deworming process for our calves, is they get a pour-on at about 3 months of age (whole group, so range is 60 days), then a pour-on and valbazen drench at 4 months. Next time is in the fall.
