How is frame score calculated?

I would like to know more about frame score/size. How is it measured or calculated? We breed some cows to AI,& I always notice frame score in the bull books , but I don't know how it works.Is there certain size to target for calves going to the feedlot? Can anyone help? Thanks

WE do quite a bit of monitoring frame scoreup here and try to keep out cattle right around 6-6.5 frame. Others that are smaeller than that end up going for feeders. I have a computer spreadsheet that will calculate fram score once you enter the age and hip height. If anyone is interested in it let me know.
