How 2 raise a Holstein?

Hi,

I have a Holstein for 4-H and I was wanting 2 know what type of feed is best and how much 2 feed. It is 20 weeks old and weighs 349. I am feeding him 6 pounds of ground ear corn, some beef pellets and a flake of Alfalfa 1st cutting. ALL HELP WANTED THANKS

We show heifers in beef and dairy so I'm not sure about what how much to feed him. Ask your 4-H leaders or a local feed dealer you trust. You need to work him up to eating more gradually so his gut can adjust and allow him to adjust, our college course recomended 3 weeks. Good luck, remember that your 4-H leaders and the senior members are there to help so ask when you need it
