There has been a lot Limi bulls that should have been cut, but were not because they were polled. I think the herfords were most likely that way to and in other breeds as well.

I do not currently own a horned animal. I think that the top third of Polled Herefords are now as good as the top horned Herefords, but I believe that the quality runs deeper into the lower price range spectrum among horned versus polled Herefords. Having said that, there are very good animals in both versions, even into the lower price ranges. I feel it would be foolish to throw away half the gene pool because of horns.

True greenwillow, the thing about a top third in the polled vesion seems fair, I was trowing all polled away as inferior in m!y above statements, but this brings nuanses

I do have some horned influence. For instance, a replacement heifer recently turned out with the bull was sired by a line bred horned Hazlett bull that was raised by Richard Day.
