horn growth after dehorning

I dehorned my 9 month old calf when she was 2 days old. One of the horns has grown a bit and is now about 3 inches long. It does not appear that it will grow fully, but I am concerned. I heard that horns can grow inward into the brain. How does this happen, and is my calf in this sort of danger because one horn has grown a little bit? Thanks for the help! Rose

If the end of the horn curves around it could contact the skull and casue problems. It's not uncommon for a little bit of horn tissue to be missed when dechorning, that's what causes the regrowth

The horn will not grow inward inside the head..If it grows into the head from the outside of the head, it could stick into the head...you can see it. The calf is not in any danger.
