Has anyone tried to kluge together components to make a milking machine? With only one milk cow, buying one is probably not an option. Parts, however, are reasonably available. Among other questions, is there a particular type of vacuum pump required?

Sorry I can't be of more help.
Good luck with your search and take care.
Thanks Cattle Annie.
Thats pretty interesting

I used to run a small septic sucker. To draw vaccum we plumbed into the intake manifold.

Resurrecting this old thread. Have any of you built your own? My wife and daughters are looking at machines for goats only. I think I can buy just the task specific components and build the system myself. If someone here already has the T-shirt, let me know. I'd like suggestions on how to, and also if you'd have done anything different.
Herd size varies between 30-40, but they only milk between 5 and 10 at a given time. Wife's fingers don't work like they used to.
