Homemade calf catcher

A family member made this for me so I can hook it up to a skid steer and tagging the newborn calves. It will keep me stay safe from overprotective momma cows. It works great!

Looks good, very innovative. I do worry though when I'm in something like that about the possibility of a cow coming over the top onto me. I have one cow that I think would.

My calf catcher is a cattle panel that is bent into a circle and wired closed. Super light weight=easy to move. I just drop it over the calf and crawl in and work calf. Creates a nice barrier between me and mom. Works good, wouldnt try it with some really aggressive cows though, but so far, it keeps even the most overprotective cows off me while I work the calf. Cheap too.
