The steak is a strip steak from a steer that I raised, the chicken is from my daughters 4-H broiler project from last year. We put them on the grill. Then we had canned grean beans and taters. :D I like living were I do.

Had an old friend stay awhile back and he said he didnt really know how quiet things were out here till he woke up LATE and wondered where all the cars and traffic was.

We buy home-raised chickens from a friend and I find them to be a lot better than what's in the store. More meat on them, he lets them go longer than the commercial operations. And they are handled quietly and not stressed when they are butchered, which I think has something to do with the meat quality. We keep trying to talk him into raising a batch of turkeys for Thanksgiving but he says they would cost so much people wouldn't buy them.

We raised 3 hogs over the winter that were butchered in February and that meat has been excellent, too.

Now if we only knew someone with a fish farm, we'd have 'er made.
