Holstein feeder calves

Don't know if this is the right place to post this question but here goes. We are going to be selling 2 groups of Holstein feeder calves soon. We live in Southeast Iowa and Im wondering if any one knows of a stronger market place than our local area for Holstein feeders? One group of 21 average 450/500 pounds,the other group of 15 average 375/450. I just know I'm going to probably take a pretty good hit on them so I'm looking for the best sale avenue. Never had to sell feeders before we've always fed them out. Appreciate any information anyone has about their areas.

I suppose I could. I dont know anything about them but I could check it out too.

Buy a copy of your local "farm" newspaper. I think you have Agri-View in IA? Look at the local sale barns and see who tracks higher.

When you pick you place, call them and ask then how many head do they have going though the ring that day. Subtract 20% from that number. Find a place that will be selling over 750 in a day.

Numbers bring in the buyers.
