High humidity

Help Support CattleToday:

Sure I do it every year. 95 deg and 95% humidity.
Just fluff it and roll it in the afternoon with the sun shining. Be sure to stop before the sun gets low and the dew starts to settle.

Dang I never knew there was low humidity, most of the time you can drink the air here.

Yeah that's for sure! 95% humidity-- how do you get air that dry?? Humidity in Houston is always at least 113% or better :)

We bale 95-100 degrees and it's ALWAYS in the 90% + humidity range. I always do the 'wring test' to tell when to bale. Got kinfolk up near Spencer, IN and I guess they do the same thing. Sunshine isn't as hot up there but I wouldn't see a problem baling good hay because of it... Good luck! OL JR :)
