Hey! I'm here! You didn't start without me... Did you?

Help Support CattleToday:

I have done O&G and cattle my whole life. I'm the guy that drives up to the bank when it's closed and has to Google what today is. I complain when business don't open until 8 and close at 5. Thats part time, imo. 😄 A properly equipped truck has 2 24s and a hot shot on it.

What does your husband do?

He works derricks for a good size outfit out around Pecos.

I'm a serial theme namer. I started a dog and cat rescue in my town a couple of years ago where I have executed many themes. Potato chip flavors, type of cheese, brands of soda pop, side dishes, different shades of the same color.

We have a cow I call Zero (Chances of getting mushed by her are low, but not Zero). I called her bull calf Zilch.

My six chickens are Lucy Ricardo, Peggy Bundy, Red Foreman, Morticia Addams, Marion Cunningham, and Edith Bunker. Can you name the theme?

Is @TCRanch also a naming ninja?
Yes she is a naming wizard, especially her bulls.

Yes! Almost always a theme for the cows, their calves & even lineage. Bulls are named after, well, they have one job. The implication is salty, but I can still refer to them by name in polite company. Currently Woody, Tallywacker and Shaft (can you dig it?;)).

Considering the context, I think its awesome you call the implication "salty." You do the naming thing in your sleep, don't you?

Welcome, I have a ranch to the south of you in Coleman County, I let a neighbor run cattle on it.
Lots to learn here.
I'm actually in Runnels County. 2024 has been a big rain year for you over there, I guess. A lot of that built up right over my head and just moved on...
